Heat Pumps Systems - Installation and Maintenance (assessment only)

This course is for experienced heat pump installers who have achieved competency in a non-NOS mapped course, require QCF accreditation and do not require any training.

What do I learn?
This course is assessment-only and covers the installation, commissioning, handover, inspection and maintenance of heat pump systems in accordance with the new QCF framework qualification.

Assessment is by online multiple-choice exam paper-based exam and practical assessment in the workshop.

A training manual which accompanies the course will be sent out to you 3-4 weeks prior to attendance and you will be expected to self study in preparation for the assessments. You are assessed in the classroom and in the workshop by a skilled tutor.
What do I gain?
You gain a certificate that is recognised by all current Microgeneration Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement for appropriate training in solar thermal technology.

Successful completion provides suitably-qualified individuals with training evidence when applying for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows self-certification. It can also act as notification to building control departments of work completed.

This course leads to a Level 3 award within the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The training has been mapped to National Occupational Standards which means you receive the most beneficial and industry-relevant training possible.
What do I need?
You need to hold a G3 certificate in domestic unvented hot water systems, energy efficiency, water regulations and NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and heating. Or you could have 3 years industry experience as well as a non-QCF qualification in heat pumps systems.

The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of Environmental Technologies is also a requirement for this course.
What do I gain?
Upon completion of this course you can progress to Level 3 awards in other environmental technologies.
