International Foundation Programme - Business Pathway

These one-year full-time intensive courses are especially designed to provide international students with the opportunity to gain the qualifications and skills required for entry into a British University. If you have only completed 12 years of school education it is likely that you will need to complete an International Foundation Programme before you can apply to university.

The course offers the opportunity to study four core modules at level 3 (equivalent to A level) as well as the chance to achieve qualifications in either GCSE English or GCSE Maths.
In addition, all students are offered tuition in study skills and ICT and tutorial support in order to develop their skills.

What do I learn?
To gain an Access Diploma you must achieve 60 credits, 45 of which must be at level 3.
You study all of the following modules:
• finance
• marketing
• law management and human resource management
• business sectors and organisation

You will also study two further units of your choice to suit your future career progression; options include Maths, Accountancy, Project and Event Management and Financial Performance.
Students will also undertake an Extended Independent Academic Study project to complete their portfolio.
What do I gain?
You will develop the skills necessary for further academic study such as strong report writing, critical thinking, research and analysis techniques, learning and revision strategies, essay writing and study skills including presentation skills. You will also improve the wider skills vital for success in further study or employment, including self-confidence, speaking in front of others, working with others, taking responsibility and managing your time.

• completing minimum 2 year high school with average academic grades over 80%
• IELTS 5.0
What do I gain?
Students can move on from the Access Diploma to Higher Education courses at degree level in Business, Accountancy, Human Resources and other related areas. The College also offers an internal progression route via its Foundation Degree in Business and Enterprise, developed and delivered in association with Oxford Brookes University.

Our students are very successful in gaining places at excellent universities; previous students have gone on to study at Oxford Brookes, London, Reading, Coventry, Warwick or Birmingham. You will be helped with your university application and receive guidance and support throughout the process.
What else do I need to know?
HOW YOU ARE ASSESSED
You build up a portfolio of credits at Pass, Merit and Distinction based on your coursework and attendance in class. You will be assessed through a variety of techniques including examinations and coursework such as assignments, reports, projects and presentations.
The College arranges optional IELTS examinations twice per year, for which you will have to pay an examination fee. In 2014/15 the test fee was approximately £150.

FEES
Tuition fees (2015-2016):

£14,850 per year. Students pay a deposit before accepting the offer for the University First Programme.
