Chris Hyde was awarded a Master Certificate Award on Monday 26 February 2018 by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Alderman Charles Bowman.
The Award celebrates Excellence in Achievement and Career Development identified with the City of London Livery Company – The Furniture Makers. The Award is supported in partnership with City & Guilds of London Institute to encourage the pursuit of excellence in vocational education and training.
Chris Hyde is Director of Delivery for Creative Arts at Activate Learning. Chris is a trained Rycotewood Furniture craftsman and antique restorer. His interest in the furniture and furnishings industry came from his upbringing in a family retail furnishing company G.B. Hyde and Son, which traded for 127 years in Cambridgeshire.
As a trained craftsman, Chris develops individuals to have a thinking eye that analyses, reflects and presents accurate craft work through stepped practical exercises to build attributes of critical thinking and creativity.
