City of Oxford College was pleased to host two visitors, Ms Xinyi Huang and Ms Xuenin Wu, from the fast-emerging fashion sector in Shenzhen, southern China. This followed an initial meeting with Paul Wilson, Head of Sino-GB Relations, in Shenzhen in March 2017.
A welcome was given by Niko Phillips, Group Director, International; Chris Hyde, Director of Creative Arts: Curriculum Design; Iain Landles, Director of Career Pathways: Creative Arts Faculty, and Paul Wilson. A presentation was given on Activate Learning, our Creative Arts offering and employer engagement, and our International scope. Conversations focused on potential areas for collaboration, especially bespoke industry programmes for the fashion sector, with a strong element of employer engagement.
Our visitors were given a guided tour of the Creative Arts faculty, where they were able to see our provision at first hand and see students’ work. Based on the interest shown by our visitors, the International team will be working with the Creative Arts faculty to bring the collaboration to fruition.
