Introduction to Traditional Upholstery

We are delighted to be able to re-run this successful, 8 week traditional upholstery course
to begin 25th January 2018. This introduction to upholstery is for absolute beginners and
will teach traditional craft techniques. You will learn how to build a hand-stitched and
stuffed stool. A frame will be supplied by the college and and age old methods of
construction and classic materials such as coir and animal hair will be used to upholster
the stool. All materials needed and frames are included in the price (except top fabric) and
no tools are required as they will be provided during the evenings. You will have the
opportunity to buy tools through the college if you would like to continue working on your
project at home.
Course teaching will be over eight Thursday evenings 6.30 - 9pm (no lesson on 15th Feb).
Teaching will take place in our brand new upholstery workshop in small groups by
professional, award winning upholsterer Rachael Stevenson.
